Our Story
Born and raised in South London, Lucy & Sam is an organic fashion brand for babies and toddlers with big hearts and playful imaginations all woven together by one common thread : to make parent, baby and the planet happy. Our story- led prints are captured and shaped on beautifully soft GOTS certified organic cotton, sustainably sourced and cut into fabulously fun garments.
Our Team
We’re a small, family-run business working with a passionate team of creative individuals to bring our baby and toddler brand to life. We’re excited to now have a team in Sri Lanka as part of our journey, adding even more talent to what we do. Over the years, we’ve built great relationships with fabric experts, mills, printers, and embroidery houses to keep every step of our process in our hands. With plenty of experience in India, Europe, and now Sri Lanka, we’ve partnered with a small group of factories that share our commitment to quality and ethical practices. We’re also dedicated to giving back to the local communities we work with by supporting small businesses, providing opportunities for training, and contributing to initiatives that improve local infrastructure and education. By investing in these communities, we hope to make a positive impact beyond our products.
Our Philosophy
“ small things that make a big difference” underpins everything that we do from initial design to your doorstep:
PRACTICAL DESIGN: All of our garments are designed to be easy to wear, to wash at low eco temperatures and include details that parents will find useful - such as the scratch mitts on our sleepwear and zips on our babygrows for easy changing.
SUSTAINABLE COTTONS: We use 100% organic, GOTS-certified cotton, with each yarn traceable back to the fields where the crops are grown. Local farmers cultivate the cotton without pesticides, fostering biodiversity throughout the process. Organic cotton is free from harmful chemicals and synthetic substances, making it much gentler on children’s delicate skin, reducing the risk of irritation or allergies. Its breathable and soft nature ensures comfort for little ones, even during long hours of wear. Lovingly crafted in Sri Lanka, our products offer full traceability and a story of care—from the fields where it all begins to the little ones who wear them.
ECO FRIENDLY NATURAL DYING METHODS: Our dyers and weavers use only AZO-free, natural dyes that avoid the use of harsh chemicals, making them much safer for children’s sensitive skin. Natural dyes are gentle, reducing the risk of allergies and skin irritation, while also being free from toxins that could harm young ones. Additionally, these dyes are eco-friendly, as they break down naturally and don’t pollute waterways like synthetic dyes. Our factories take this commitment further by recycling rainwater for manufacturing and utilizing solar power wherever possible, minimizing the impact on the local environment and promoting sustainable practices.
RECYCLED PACKAGING MATERIAL: We use 100% recycled materials for all our labelling and packaging. All mail bags shipper to our customers are made from 100% sugar cane. Sugar cane is sustainable alternative to plastics, comes from renewable sources and is also bio degradable.
ETHICAL FASHION: All of our factories follow strong ethical standards, making sure workers are treated fairly with good working conditions and pay. We regularly check in through annual audits to ensure everyone involved in the production process is happy, just like our customers. We’re always looking for ways to support local projects that protect the environment and create better educational opportunities for the people who work with us.
